Home Visiting
Look at the reflection in the mirror–there you will see your child’s first teacher. The most important person in their life is YOU! Home Visiting at Head Start for Kent County puts the focus on you and your family. When enrolled in the Home Visiting program, you will be paired with a highly trained Home Visitor who will give you individualized support specific to your child’s development and your family needs. A Home Visitor will help you every step of the way by pointing out your child’s successes, helping to set personalized goals, and supporting you with any challenges you face.
Families and Home Visitors meet weekly for 90 minutes and cover parent-selected topics including child development, family well-being, and parent/child interactions. Each visit, we use materials found right in your home for learning activities. You and your child will explore and taste new food from our monthly food experiences. Play groups occur twice a month in our infant/toddler classroom and offer opportunities to interact with other families. You are your child’s first teacher, and participation in the Home Visiting program will give your child a HEAD START on their development!
