How long have you been a Head Start parent?
This is my third year as a Head Start parent. I have three children, two are currently in the program. My oldest started Kindergarten this year from Head Start.
In what ways are you engaged at your child’s site?
I started by volunteering with the WATCH D.O.G.S. program. I am currently a Parent Teacher Assistant Substitute for Kentwood.
I am also on my third year of being a part of the Understanding Readiness Outcomes Committee as a Parent Representative for Kentwood. I help with other projects and attend events when I can.
What is your favorite Head Start moment?
My favorite moment would be when I first entered the classroom as a WATCH D.O.G. My son was so happy I was there. He had to tell all his classmates I was his dad. He did not want to share me at first but it has been great ever since.
